GETTING THERE
Arrival from Munich Airport
From Munich Airport, lines S1 and S8 run to the city centre (metro station Marienplatz). They run alternately every 10 minutes, with the S1 going via Munich West and the S8 via Munich East. The journey time with the S8 is 38 minutes and with the S1 – 50 minutes.
At Marienplatz change into underground lines U3 (Moosach) or U6 (Garching-Forschungszentrum) and alight at metro station Universität.
You will need to buy a ticket. We recommend the Airport-City Day Ticket, which is available for those travelling alone (single version) and for families or groups (partner version). It is valid for the whole day on all MVV routes and modes of transport throughout the entire Munich network. The ticket is available from the ticket machines in the airport, which also accept credit cards.

Arrival from Munich Central Station
From Munich Central Station, take the underground lines U4 (Arabellapark) or U5 (Neuperlach) to the metro station Odeonsplatz. Change to U3 (Moosach) or U6 (Garching-Forschungszentrum) and alight at metro station Universität.
